Barbara Lange

Barbara has just begun serving with Living Word Uganda, which focuses on teaching faithful Bible handling to university students, church lay leaders, and pastors. They believe that God’s Word, by God’s power, is alive and active to change lives radically when clearly taught. Besides working with university students, Living Word partners with the local church to equip believers with faithful biblical exegesis and exposition principles. Barbara supports the staff in the work of this important ministry.

Prior to joining Living Word, Barbara served for five years with another ministry in the Kampala area called Pastors Discipleship Network, which trains, equips, and resources the African pastor. Barbara served in numerous ways, developing programs and teaching materials, training pastors’ wives, and teaching at pastors’ conferences, as well as for a time, overseeing PDN’s library and resource department.

In all of this, teaching good doctrine and upholding the Word of God and discipleship, spiritual formation, and soul care are key ingredients woven into interactions with many people. Training leaders have particular significance as they are the ones to influence and pass on the truth to others. To this end, Barbara is currently facilitating a weekly study group for five pastors, providing them with a much-needed space for fellowship, study, and stimulating discussion. She also enjoys meeting with young women for counsel, mentoring, and discipling. In addition, she has recently supported a growing apologetics ministry by editing a research paper, recording a podcast with a colleague, and writing occasional articles for them.
