Eric and Melissa Olupot

Melissa and Eric met during the summer of 2014 while doing ministry outside of Kampala, Uganda. Since that time, their friendship grew and led them to marry in 2016 and welcome their first child in 2017.

In response to God’s call, Melissa moved to Uganda in 2014 to pursue her passion for the Deaf community. Despite the cultural stigma that has plagued them, she believes that they are a gift from God, made in His image, for a purpose. Sadly, only 2% of Deaf people worldwide are practicing Christians and Melissa hopes and desires to see that change.

Eric, a native Ugandan, with multiple medical degrees, is passionate about healthcare, education, and improving the lives of his people.

Together, they lead, disciple, educate, and empower young Deaf people via weekly Bible studies, health-related trainings, workshops, and counseling. By partnering with a local Deaf church and surrounding Deaf schools, the Olupots aim to open the doors of communication, build relationships, and lead these young people into the arms of the Great Physician.
