George and Joyce Irungu

We are George and Joyce Irungu. We both came to know the Lord as our personal savior at an early age. We are blessed with Four kids Winnie, Ruthie (Twins, now 20 @Liberty University, VA), Joy (15), and Willie (13) (The last two are here in Kenya with us). After finishing our Ministry and School training in the United States and serving in a local church in Grace Church Granger Indiana, we prayed to God for direction and it was very clear in our hearts that we wanted to serve the Lord in Kenya as Missionaries. In the year 2010, we started a journey of faith by talking to churches and individuals to support God’s work, and in August 2012, we came to serve the Lord in Kenya; it has been a great joy and encouragement as we see the Lord working alongside us in different Ministries.

We are involved in Training men and women at Moffat Bible College, which was founded in 1929 with a purpose of training Church leaders’ men and women to serve the Lord. Moffat equips students from different parts of Kenya and outside of Kenya to reach others in their communities with the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ in Africa and the World. On finishing their Three years of training, they serve as local Church Pastors, Christian Counselors, and Chaplains in schools, hospitals, and prisons. We involve the students in our areas of Ministry in Churches, communities, and in a Juvenile Center to be alongside us as we serve. George teaches Bible, Theology, Leadership, and Marriage and Family courses. Joyce teaches Counseling courses. We also mentor groups or individual students, and it's always a great joy to see them flourish and do better.

We are also involved in Church planting, Pastoring, Evangelism, and Discipleship. We are currently serving in a Local church in a very dry and poverty stricken area. The Church had very few members when we started serving there, but the Lord has continued to increase the Church spiritually and numerically. We have, in a big way, focused on the children who come from the community and the youth, and there has been a very positive change happening in the area. We are involved with a feeding program where we supply food items to the poor and the aged in the area and, once in a while, provide meals at the Church. We also support some of the poor kids whose parents cannot afford to educate them with their high school fees and some in vocational training. We have seen God’s goodness as some of the kids we started helping in elementary schools just finished college. We continue to help others as they finish their primary or secondary education as the Lord guides us.
