Kossi and Whitney Akpi
Kossi and Whitney Akpi serve in Malawi, “the warm heart of Africa.” Upon getting married in July 2017 in Kossi’s home country of Togo, they felt the Lord leading them to serve alongside Extending Hope, a powerful and exciting non-profit run by Malawians. Their heart is to help the organization increase its effectiveness using their skills in media and administration so the Malawian team can do what they do best; share the love of Christ through discipleship, seminars and projects.
Malawi is the 3rd poorest nation in the world. Extending Hope desires to see the burden of poverty alleviated through education, healthcare and agriculture. All their ministry flows from a passion to help people deepen their understanding of God’s word and grow in intimacy with Jesus. As they help others experience greater wellness and authentic life in Christ, those they serve can share God’s life and blessings with others.
Currently Extending Hope runs a primary school for middle class Malawians, operates a village clinic and runs for-profit chicken farms to supplement staff support and fund projects.
Kossi uses his photographic and videography skills documenting the work of Extending Hope as well as assisting in soccer evangelism. Whitney helps the senior leadership in administration and promotion. Beyond these focus areas they serve in every way possible to support the transformational work of Extending Hope.
