Kevin Cochrane

Kevin is serving in the country of Japan. At first glance, Japan is a modern, safe, and beautiful country. But beneath the surface, there are many problems burdening its people, like a high suicide rate, depression, loneliness, a difficult work culture, fragmented families, and a lack of hope. It is also estimated that between 80-90% of people in Japan have never heard the gospel explained to them even once.

To help change this reality, Kevin is serving on a church-planting team in the city of Sendai. The city of Sendai is located in the Tohoku region of Japan, which was devastated by a 9.0 earthquake and subsequent tsunami several years ago. Kevin’s passion is sharing the gospel through local evangelism, discipling Japanese Christians, and preaching the Word of God. Kevin has also been inspired to share the gospel online through his Hope for Japan YouTube channel:  https://www.youtube.com/c/hopeforjapan316

Japan is currently known as the “land of the rising sun.” Kevin’s prayer is that one day, Japan will be reached with the gospel and be known as the “land of the risen Son, Jesus Christ.”

“For from the rising of the sun to its setting, My name will be great among the nations, and in every place incense will be offered to My name and a pure offering. For My name will be great among the nations, says the Lord of Hosts.” Malachi 1:11
