Bob Martinez
Bob is part of a small team taking on a huge challenge. In December of 2011, he came with an outreach team from Mazatlan, Sinaloa all the way to Mexico City to plant a new Youth With A Mission base. Now a part of YWAM Centro Mexico City, or CMC, Bob and his team are working hard at making a lasting impact in this city.
Since their arrival, YWAM CMC has made connections with ministries and churches across all kinds of denominational lines and is working hard to bring unity to the church in Mexico City. On Thursday nights, Bob is leading a Bible study for college students and young professionals. Bob is also working with visiting teams from churches and YWAM bases from all over the world. He is helping to coordinate ministry in the city by connecting visiting teams with ministries around the city. All of the staff are involved in a weekly ministry to street kids and a monthly commitment to work with a home for girls being rescued from human trafficking. It’s hard to explain how things have come together the way they have and so quickly, except to say that God is in control.
With plans to expand to multiple bases with in Mexico City, YWAM CMC is taking ground quickly by the grace of God.
Bob is originally from Dallas, Texas and completed three years of a discipleship training program called Master’s Commission after high school. He went on to do a Discipleship Training School with YWAM in 2008, in Mazatlan and has been on staff with YWAM since 2010.
