David and Jayne Ann Harder work for SAT-7, a Christian satellite network broadcasting to the Middle East and North Africa. David is SAT-7’s Communications Manager; Jayne Ann serves as the ministry’s Audience Research Coordinator as well as Acting Human Resources Manager.
SAT-7 broadcasts daily on two channels totaling 24-hours in Arabic, 20-hours in Persian and 4-hours in Turkish. SAT-7 is unique in that most of their programming is produced locally by indigenous Christians. The network’s shows also include programs such as The Jesus Film and VeggieTales dubbed into regional languages. 95% of Middle Easterners in SAT-7’s viewing area have access to television and many also have satellite dishes, allowing the Word of God to be broadcast into difficult to reach places. Many Christians and other viewers have said that the network is playing a vital role in their lives.
A Christian in Syria wrote, “We are a group of Christians in an isolated area, and to us SAT-7 is like medicine for our sickness. Thank you!”
