Donna was an Emergency Department nurse for 7 years and had been making frequent trips to Guatemala during that time, helping a ministry who counsels children who have experienced abuse and trauma. She also volunteered at 2 different medical clinics.

In 2017, she moved to Guatemala to serve as a missionary with the ministry run by Peter Pitman, and his mother, Estela. Peter and Estela have been running a kids’ club ministry for 25 years and youth group for 3 years. Once Donna joined their ministry, they continued kids’ club, youth group, and began medical clinics for patients who otherwise wouldn’t be able to afford healthcare. They have helped over 2500 patients in a year, providing complete care for these patients including medications, treatments, bloodwork, ultrasounds, CT scans, and have helped numerous patients to get the lifesaving surgery they needed.

During kids’ club and youth group, they do activities, teach the Word of God, and sing with the children who live in tin shacks along the railroad tracks. They host teams to help with medical clinics, kids’ club, youth group, construction, and camp for the children who live along the railroad tracks.

In March 2018, Peter and Donna got married. Together, they run the ministry called Impacting One Life at a Time. They have a mission house to provide a safe place for the children they work with if needed and to host teams. They continue the kids’ club, youth group, and medical clinics.
