Frank and Mary Lou Ticknor
Frank and Mary Lou both heard Jesus call to missions in their teen years, but drifted away from God’s will and into a worldly lifestyle for many years. Frank retired early from a career in chemical engineering and answered God’s call to work in an orphanage in Baja, California in 1994. He moved to Oaxaca in 1997 to locate a new base. Mary Lou retired from a nursing career and entered the mission field full time in 2000 after 7 years of short term mission trips to cities and villages in Mexico. Frank and Mary Lou met while serving the Lord in Oaxaca and married in October 2002.
The Lord called them to minister to the poor indigenous Zapotec people living in the rainforest of Pluma Hidalgo. Frank and Mary Lou’s desire is to walk with Jesus through the mountains as He visits His people and carry Jesus’ message of love and reconciliation.
The Lord has led them to start a quilting ministry, home Bible studies, minister to needy families and work with struggling indigenous churches.
