Chris Russell
After being called to missions as a senior in high school and waiting 20 years to fulfill this dream, Chris began his missions career in Guatemala in 2009. He began a childrens ministry know as “Nueva Generación,” or “New Generation.” ( N.G.)
N.G. was established to bring a lasting change, spiritually, mentally and emotionally, to the children, youth and families of Vista Hermosa and the surrounding areas of San Benito and Santa Elena, Peten, Guatemala, as well as surrounding villages. It is attempting to accomplish this goal by working in five main areas, which are described below.
1. Weekly evangelistic outreaches
– An exciting street ministry with games, music, fellowship and a systematic approach to teaching the Word of God.
2. Visitations in the local neighborhoods
– Daily visits to encourage and evangelize the children, youth and families
3. Ministry in local elementary schools
– Daily visits to spend quality time with the children and encourage them of their value to God.
– Specific ministry within the schools to assist the staff and also teach the Word of God.
4. Ministry to local youth
5. Ministry in surrounding villages
– Taking the Gospel and love of Christ to remote villages where there are many physical and spiritual needs.
Overall, Chris is excited to be in Guatemala and is using his life to make a lasting change and advance the kingdom of God.
