Shawn & Julie Boykin

Shawn and Julie have a heart for missions and discipleship. They will be serving with God Said Go Missions in and around Esquintla, Guatemala. This is an impoverished rural city and state in SW Guatemala. They will support the medical and food/water programs, as well as helping local pastors to grow their congregation first through community evangelism and also by introducing new discipleship efforts to deepen the commitment of the local churches. As the hands and feet of Christ to this area, their hope is to provide leadership, guidance, and resources in order to see communities redeemed spiritually, socially and economically for the glory of God.

Shawn and Julie were married in 1999 and lived in Huntsville, AL for many years before becoming full-time missionaries to Guatemala in 2023. They have two sons, Michael and Patrick. Michael, 24, is on active duty in the US Navy. Patrick, 22, is a senior at the University of Alabama-Huntsville. Esquintla is a city in the center of large tracts of farming. It was also the location for the refugees of many small villages destroyed by the volcano eruption from Volcán Fuego in 2018. The town has little clean water, limited to no work opportunities, cramped living conditions due to over population, and many children are sick and dying from malnutrition. Shawn and Julie will work to support the local church, local leaders and the local people see God do wonders, both physically and spiritually.
