Edgar and Laura Cojon

Laura came to Guatemala in the spring of 2004 as a student teacher at the Christian Academy of Guatemala. During this time she saw the impact that the teachers at CAG had on the students and the great need for more teachers on the mission field. After graduating from college, she felt the Lord’s calling to return to CAG. She began teaching high school math and science in the fall of 2004.

Edgar and Laura met at their church in the fall of 2005 and were married December 15, 2007. Around this time, Edgar felt called to use his talents towards a full time ministry of reaching the world through music. He entered SETECA (Seminario Teológico Centroamericano) and is studying theology with an emphasis in music.  He will graduate in October 2011.

July 11, 2010, their first child, Nathan Santiago, was born in Guatemala City.

Currently Edgar is the assistant pastor at Santuario Familiar, a church plant that began services in January 2011 in Cuidad Quetzal.  The church is the location of a feeding center for Manna Worldwide.  Laura and Edgar also manage the guest house for Manna Worldwide short term mission teams which is located in Guatemala City.
