Francisco & Cheryl (Hoople) Ahumada
Francisco and Cheryl live in beautiful Baja California, Mexico. Serving hand-in-hand, they co-lead the Mexico Recovery Ministry using Celebrate Recovery materials as a tool to help transform Mexico into a nation filled with the hope of Jesus Christ in prisons, correctional institutes and local churches.
In June of 2009, God opened the doors for Cheryl and her Prison Ministry team to bring Celebrate Recovery into the Ensenada Prison. In 2014, Cheryl headed up the launching of Celebrate Recovery in her local church Calvary Chapel Rosarito, BC, Mexico.
The vision Francisco and Cheryl have is to offer healing and wholeness to those struggling with past traumas which have led to addictions, shame, control, fear, perfectionism, despair, codependency, pride, grief, pornography, adultery, abortion, abuse and other dysfunctional behaviors. They have seen how God has responded to those who are suffering and caught-up in such destructive cycles and hopelessness of their lives. This biblically based recovery program has been used to help people recover from past sins and to help them become more Christ-like in their character.
Their goal is to continue training up more leaders to bring this Biblically based recovery ministry to other prisons, correctional institutes and local churches so others can find healing from their hurts, habits and hang-ups.
