Dwayne and Sharon Block

Dwayne and Sharon Block are CTEN missionaries serving in Cochabamba, Bolivia. They met in school in Canada, and both knew they wanted to serve the Lord overseas. They have served in Venezuela and currently serve in Bolivia. Sharon is an MK from Iran.

They have four children, Jessica, Jennifer, Benjamin, and Judah. Jessica is now married to Andy Osborne and they have two children, Reuben and Eleanor. Jennifer is studying at Tyndale in Toronto, Benjamin is thirteen and finishing 8th grade, and Judah is eleven and finishing 6th grade.

Dwayne serves as pastor, teacher, and counselor in Iglesia Bíblica ELYON (ELYON Bible church). Sharon is mostly at home caring for the family, homeschooling the boys, serving in hospitality, and counseling. A few years ago, Dwayne & Sharon, along with some Bolivian believers, started this new church. They chose the name ELYON because it means “God most high” and points to His lordship. Many Bolivian churches operate more in accord with the surrounding cultural norms than according to foundational Biblical truths and ethics. They desire to see a well-grounded local body of believers who live the gospel of Jesus Christ under His lordship, as well as calling those around them to submit to Christ and His gospel.
