Trevor and Jana Eby

With little knowledge of what they were getting themselves into, but with faith in the God who was leading them, Trevor and Jana and their two young daughters boarded the plane bound for Athens, Greece. It was early winter of 1988 and they had been accepted for service with a Greek mission organization. Initially working with a boat-based evangelism ministry to the Greek islands, the Ebys were soon asked to head up an outreach to Iranian refugees and they continued with that for the next seven years.

In 1996 they returned to Canada with the assignment of starting a Canadian office for the organization they were serving. Their time in Greece had given them the foundational understanding of what the life of a missionary is like. To that they now added the experience of starting and running a national office for missionary support.

In 2011, with 23 years of missions life and practice behind them, the Ebys joined CTEN to serve as their first Canadian director. Providing oversight and guidance to the finance team, together they facilitate connection between donors and the missionaries they support, managing the network and connections God has provided to sustain His work through CTEN Canada.

Trevor and Jana serve as the first point of contact for prospective missionaries seeking to join CTEN Canada. They have the joy of helping others through the application process toward their goal of serving in the role and place where God has called them. And, of course, this is just the beginning of a longer relationship.

CTEN maintains a strong focus on providing dedicated pastoral care for their missionaries. Each missionary with CTEN is supported by a pastoral care couple who keep in regular contact with them and who visit them on the field. The Ebys work together with the Pastoral Care staff to encourage and support the Canadian missionaries under their care.

As a team, we all seek to empower CTEN Canada’s missionaries to serve responsively to God’s direction in fulfilling the call to go to the nations with the good news of Jesus.
