Wendy Willmore
Wendy is a missionary surgeon committed to sharing the love of Christ with those in need of His healing touch. She has a passion for training African Christian physicians to do the same. Serving in Africa since 2013, she was instrumental in opening a surgical residency program in Arusha, Tanzania, and co-headed the program until 2021. In 2024, she is moving to a more rural base at Nkinga Referral Hospital, a ministry of the Free Pentecostal Church of Tanzania. She and some of her Arusha graduates hope to open a new program at this location. As a staff surgeon, she brings Christ’s healing to her patients with compassion and skill. As a faculty member, she teaches her students and residents to do the same and models for them what a Christian surgeon should look like. Other interests include point-of-care ultrasound, surgically correctable disability, surgical nutrition, spiritual formation in a medical context, and church choral music.
