Vinicio and Karry Lopez
Vinicio and Karry Lopez serve full-time in Guatemala. Vinicio was born in Guatemala and moved to the United States when he was 19. He has always enjoyed working with his hands and using his practical skills to serve others. Karry was born in Illinois, earned a Master’s degree in Social Work in Georgia, and spent most of her career working in hospice.
A mission trip to Guatemala was the beginning of God’s call on Karry’s life to missions. Through that experience, God gave her a love for Him and for the people of Guatemala. After spending time serving on the mission field, she returned to the United States, where she met Vinicio in Atlanta. They married and later had two daughters, Emma and Selah.
In 2016, after helping their church develop a partnership with a ministry in Guatemala, God made it clear that He was calling them to serve Him full-time in Guatemala. They sold everything, moved to Guatemala, and have been serving there since.
Today, they serve with Servants Hearts Ministries, working alongside short-term mission teams to provide homes for families living in inadequate or unsafe conditions. They also provide fuel-efficient stoves, water filters, wells, food assistance, and other practical help as needs arise. Their ministry includes children's activities, home visits, Gospel presentations, and helping connect families with other ministries when a need is beyond what they can provide.
Through all of these opportunities, their desire is to meet practical needs while sharing the hope of Christ and building relationships that point people to Him.
