This couple serves in Taiwan in a bilingual church, ministering to both English- and (some) Mandarin-speaking believers. Through experience, they’ve learned it’s more effective to strengthen local believers than for them to rely on direct evangelism, since the “foreigner” factor fades quickly. They lead several small groups (in-person and online, including with believers in a restricted country), host a weekly Tuesday Night Family Dinner, have space for overnight guests, and provide discipleship and mentoring. The wife also teaches English online, primarily to students in a restricted country.
They have been in the field for over 12 years, first helping with Bible Translation for minority groups and now with this new focus. Over the 12 years, God has faithfully provided through many trials that began before they left, with a life-threatening and life-altering stroke. These have all served to strengthen their faith in and relationship with the loving, Heavenly Father and Christ His Son.
This couple is working with people from a restricted access country and travels there periodically, so they cannot provide real names or photos.
