Jun and Christine Apatan are currently serving on the islands of Mindanao and Bohol in the Philippines. Their main ministry is in two areas: mentoring and teaching. In 2018, Christine moved to Bohol to start a new English language program in partnership with a local church. In 2020, Christine and Jun got married at that church in Bohol.

In 2023, the English classes were no longer held at the church, but out in the community.  There is a central classroom/storage area cared for by the lead teacher, and she, along with 8 others, is teaching elementary-age participants in different locations across the village. They are using Bible stories as their base, but also continue to include English and other educational skills. In 2025, with locals doing the physical teaching in Bohol, the Apatans have expanded their ministry to include the regions of North and South Cotabato in Mindanao. They are currently partnered with Christian Gathering Ministries International Inc. (CGMII) as missionary members.

Christine’s main focus is training and mentoring teachers across the denomination. This happens through district-wide seminars and in-person visits to the 70+ individual churches. We also provide physical teaching materials and other children's supplies when available and needed. Jun supports her via transportation and translation.

Jun’s main focus is mentoring and preaching. He converses regularly with the new generation of younger pastors as well as those who have been serving for decades.  He also takes time to just be with people in the community, especially if he notices others are avoiding them. He is regularly asked to preach when we make visits, as well as on special occasions such as Thanksgiving celebrations, youth events, funerals, and even translating sermons when a visiting English-speaking pastor comes. Christine supports him via research and being present when he is called to preach.

As of 2026, they spend most of their time in the Cotabato regions, but make quarterly visits to the staff in Bohol for observation, training, appreciation events, and evaluations. In the future, Jun and Christine have hopes of building their own home and a second ministry building in Bohol as an extension of the existing programs.
