Christy Owen
Since 1999, Christy Owen has served in Honduras with a passion for making God’s Word known and His love visible, especially within the Deaf community. Through her ministry, In His Joy, she desires to reflect the joy of Christ by serving others, equipping leaders, and creating opportunities for people to know and experience His love.
Christy’s ministry focuses on three interconnected areas:
Deaf Education – Equipping the Deaf Community of Honduras through Christian education, sign language access, and academic support.
Bible Translation – Supporting the translation of God’s Word into Honduran Sign Language (LESHO).
Foster Care – Providing a safe, loving, and Christ-centered home for all the children God brings to her family.
Christy’s present family includes four beautiful children: two teenagers who attend the Manos Felices Deaf school Christy was instrumental in founding, a young girl who loves all things purple and pink, and her adult child with special needs, Lili. Through In His Joy, Christy seeks to live out her calling: His Word Known. His Love Visible.
