David and Jessica Hubbard

David and Jessica serve full-time in the remote jungles of northeast Honduras.  David provides anesthesia for emergency surgeries (obstetric, trauma, pediatric) for patients across hundreds of villages and pueblos. He prays with each one, sharing the hope of the Gospel.  Jessica teaches 3rd and 4th grade at a missionary school, discipling children in English and Spanish. She equips them with a biblical worldview and teaches them to read so they can know and love God’s Word.

The entire Hubbard family is on mission. David and Jessica regularly preach in both English and Spanish in Honduras, investing in local leaders and missionaries and hosting workshops on leadership development, spiritual warfare, and other topics.  Jubilee, Esther, and Gabriel all attend the missionary school with the local Hondurans.  Maranatha, the youngest, spends most days with her Honduran niñera while her parents are serving at the hospital and school. All four children can communicate effectively with their peers in the Spanish language and are learning how to be a bridge to the Gospel, pointing their school peers and friends to Jesus through their words, actions, and deeds.

We have great memories from our work here.  During a stormy night, two young boys were rushed to our hospital with severe burns. The bridge was out, so transfer wasn’t possible. One had second-degree burns over 27% of his body. We rushed him to surgery, and by God’s grace, both survived. In another instance, Jessica taught a powerful chapel lesson at the school on forgiveness using a rock-in-the-shoe illustration. Students responded with heartfelt prayers, asking Jesus to help them forgive. God is healing bodies and hearts in Honduras.
