Jesus and Kristen Vega
Jesús and Kristen Vega are serving with CTEN in Yakima, WA, using soccer as ministry among the very large, young Hispanic population of the area. Having previously served for five years in Cusco, Peru, Vegas experienced firsthand how relationships formed on the soccer field can open doors for sharing the Gospel and reaching whole families with the message of God’s love for them.
Jesús was born and raised in Lima, Peru, and Kristen also grew up in Peru, as a missionary kid. They each came to faith at an early age and their lives were forever changed. When they met as young adults, they soon discovered a shared passion for reaching the lost with the good news of Jesus. God has blessed their family with five beautiful children, all soccer players since early childhood. But soccer has become more than just the Vega family’s favorite pastime; it is a God-given strategy they are using for outreach and discipleship. Together it is their desire and great joy to share the love of Jesus in this way with whomever He brings into their lives.
