Michael and Sharlene McDonald
Michael and Sharlene McDonald and their three kids arrived in Mexico as missionaries in 2006 after pastoring in Canada for almost 10 years.
While in Mexico they were involved in numerous different ministries but concentrated on raising up leaders and serving in their local church. They started a mobile Bible Institute in the poorer neighborhoods of Tijuana, Mexico and handed the ministry off to local pastors in 2010. That ministry has graduated 60+ students. Michael also taught at Calvary Chapel Bible College in Ensenada, Mexico. During this time Sharlene served in women's ministry, hospitality and homeschooling the 3 boys.
In 2016 they moved to La Paz Mexico to work with a local church plant and start “La Huerta”, a school for training pastors and missionaries. Sharlene served in the area of hospitality as well a children’s and women’s ministry in the church and helped administrate the ministry of La Huerta.
After seventeen years of serving in Mexico, and a short time in the Philippines Michael and Sharlene sensed God’s call to serve Him in Canada. They are serving on Vancouver Island church planting and training up young leaders with the Calvary Chapels of BC.
