Naomi Heye
Naomi moved to Guatemala in April, 2009, after working as a pediatric/NICU nurse in North America. She has three daughters, Bri, Shirley, and Marcela.
She runs Treasures of God Children’s Home, which was licensed, and began operating in April 2014. The Home’s mission statement is: “To love, value and become family to abandoned children with disabilities, simply because they are fearfully and wonderfully made by God!” This sums up Naomi’s heart for the children. She wants each girl to know that, without a doubt, she is valued by God, and that He loves her completely. He has made each child perfectly, and with great purpose!
Naomi, along with the team working at her home, strive to give the best quality of care available to the children that they can. This includes giving the basics such as food, clothing and shelter, but more importantly, they teach each child about the love of God. They provide the girls with special education, access to medical specialists, surgeries, and different therapies (such as physical, speech, and occupational). Each child is loved on, and cared for by a team of wonderful nannies that have become family to those who can’t be with their biological families.
Naomi wants each child to be given the tools needed to reach their individual and unique potential while living in a family-style environment.
Naomi and her daughters are very excited to be doing the work God has put before them!
