Founded in 1995 by Ernest Ehabe, Bread For Life International (BFL) was born from a deep conviction that the Gospel must speak not only to the spiritual needs of humanity but also to the physical, social, and economic realities people face every day. Inspired by a desire to bridge the gap between the questions that trouble the human heart and the life-changing answers found in Jesus Christ, Bread For Life has become a ministry of hope, compassion, and transformation.
Bread For Life International is an indigenous evangelistic, relief, and development organization committed to addressing both spiritual and physical hunger across West-Central Africa. We believe that lasting transformation happens when people experience the hope of Christ while also receiving practical support that restores dignity, creates opportunity, and strengthens communities.
Working alongside the local church and community leaders, BFL engages in church planting, rural agricultural development, medical outreaches, student sponsorships, education, orphan care, and community empowerment initiatives. Through these efforts, we seek to connect resources with needs and help communities become spiritually, socially, and economically vibrant.
What began in 1995 with a vision and no staff has grown into a global movement with a dedicated team of over 60 staff members serving in Cameroon, supported by volunteers, partners, and friends in the United States and around the world. Over the years, Bread For Life has planted more than 30 churches, established three unique schools in three regions of Cameroon, provided support for orphanages and vulnerable children, and developed programs that bring hope and opportunity to underserved communities.
From proclaiming the message of Christ to feeding the hungry, educating children, caring for the vulnerable, empowering families, supporting farmers, and promoting sustainable development, Bread For Life remains committed to demonstrating the love of God through both word and action.
At its heart, Bread For Life believes that true transformation occurs when people experience both the Bread of Life that satisfies the soul and the practical support that restores hope, dignity, and opportunity.
