Emma Patterson

Emma first visited Tanzania in the summer of 2015, unaware of how that trip would impact the direction of her life. As a full-time teacher, she kept traveling during the summers, and God continued nurturing her love for the people of East Africa. As she learned more about Tanzania's people and culture, Emma recognized a strong need for solid theological training for pastors and leaders across the country.

Emma moved to Mwanza, Tanzania, in 2023. She serves as an affiliate teacher and trainer at Lake Victoria Christian College (LVCC), a school overseen by PEFA. Emma teaches intensive courses at the college and supports the Theological Education by Extension (TEE) program. She also hosts various seminars around the Lake Regions on Bible study methods and trauma-informed care.

When Emma isn’t teaching, she’s likely studying, drinking too much coffee, visiting friends, or introducing Tanzanians to her favorite food—tacos!
