Nina Neubauer
Nina Neubauer has been serving in Johannesburg, South Africa, since 2010. For more than 13 years, she served with African Havens children’s homes. She accompanied many of the children as they grew up. Currently, she connects with the kids at the Havens but has focused on supporting the older children and young adults who have left the Havens. Many of the young adults are trying to find their place in the world as they look for security, belonging, and purpose. Nina accompanies them on their journeys in multiple ways, from material and practical support to emotional, spiritual, and educational support.
In addition to the work above, Nina supports her local community by assisting marginalized people. She is passionate about justice and treating people with respect and grace. She advocates for economic change and equity in a country with gross differences in quality of life and opportunities. Nina is also using her skills in Drama Therapy to serve young people in inner-city Johannesburg and the university communities.
