Brian and Melissa Richey
Brian and Melissa serve in San José, Costa Rica. They have lived there since September 2024. Both have been involved in various outreach ministries since giving their lives to Christ in 2009.
Brian and Melissa serve at the Spanish Language Institute in San José, Costa Rica, where they provide student and missionary care. They serve as landing partners for new students arriving in the country, helping make their transition smoother. They organize social events, outings around the country, and outreach opportunities where students and missionaries can serve and put their Spanish into practice. In addition, they host a weekly conversation club for students and members of the local community to practice both English and Spanish.
They also have a heart for reaching the lost in their community. They serve with a local ministry, discipling youth and children through activities, feeding programs, camps, and Bible studies.
Before moving to Costa Rica, Brian worked in the commercial trucking industry, driving buses and semi-trucks. His favorite job was driving an airport shuttle because he got to meet people from all over the world. He loves being around people! Melissa served as the Outreach Director at their sending church, Cornwall Church in Bellingham, Washington. She loves hearing people's stories, making connections, and sharing the hope, joy, and comfort of the Lord with others.
They both have a heart for people.
Their mission verse is 1 Thessalonians 2:8, “Because we loved you so much, we were delighted to share with you not only the gospel of God but our lives as well.”
Their desire is to share their lives with the people God has placed around them and to show the love of Christ.
Above all, their prayer has always been that their lives and marriage would point others to Christ, encourage the Church, and help others come to know Him.
