Fernando and Alison Sabio
Before Fernando and Alison joined CTEN in 2011, Fernando had helped translate the Bible into the Garifuna language, earned a Bible degree in the U.S., was a missionary in Guinea-Bissau for two years, and returned to Honduras and founded the Mua Buiti (“Good Soil”) Garifuna Bible school in 2009. Fernando and Alison married in 2010 and had a son (2014) and daughter (2015).
God blessed Fernando’s servant leadership in mentoring Garifuna pastors, facilitating discipleship training and resources for church leaders, pastoring a local congregation for nine years, and serving as president of the Garifuna Missions Association for two years. God called him home to heaven in March 2025, and his family and fellow leaders are committed to carrying forward the work God started through him.
Alison serves in project management, administrative support, and other supportive roles alongside Garifuna brothers and sisters in Honduras, many of whom are first-generation believers. Alison and her son and daughter live in La Ceiba.
